Toyota Motorsport has launched Toyota GT86 CS-V3, racing variant of the popular Toyota GT86 sports car.
Positioned as an entry level race car for private participants, the race ready GT86 CS-V3 will cost close to US$ 57000. A stiffer chassis, racing exhaust, brakes and suspensions are fitted on the car.
The rear wheel drive, 200 bhp car was specially developed for the V3 class races at the Nurburgring based VLN series. Homologation by German motor sport authorities means that the Toyota GT86 CS-V3 can race in many other production based championships also.
Development of racing cars based on the GT86 continues at Toyota Motorsport, with a GT86 Cup car under consideration.
We want to share the passion of motorsport with as many people as possible and this car is the result. It is already race-proven having won the V3 class in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and we hope to see many more of these cars competing in the coming months. Yoshiaki Kinoshita, President at Toyota Motorsport
