2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 Review

Was presented as the Land Rover Freelander in 1997 for the first time, he was a co-founder of the segment of compact SUVs and was instantly the most popular Land Rover model.

Land Rover Freelander 2 2013

In 2006 the second generation was launched, which has now been completely revised for the new model year and upgraded.

Visual level, the new vintage at a cooler look with revised headlamps, new front bumper, new tail lights and a few other little details that the Land Rover Freelander 2 can act now even more dynamic.

Land Rover Freelander 2 2013

The interior has been redesigned and now offers quality materials and a fresh look. Between the two round instruments is a new LCD display space, a new look, the center console has also obtained.

The manual handbrake is now given way to an electronic, and the Terrain Response was that optically aligned in the Evoque. Also new are a rearview camera, which gives a very good picture and a Meridian sound system, which provides maximum listening pleasure.

When the engine of the 6-cylinder petrol engine with a modern 2.0-liter 4-cylinder was replaced, which is a power of 240 hp more than 7% of the 6-cylinder engine.

But he is more economical to move to 14% and is on average 9.6 liters per 100 kilometers. Even more economical are the best diesel. The 2.2 liter 4-cylinder diesel engine is available with 150 hp or 190 hp.

Land Rover Freelander 2 2013

With the 150 hp version, customers can also choose between front-and all-wheel drive, 2-wheel driven eD4 with a consumption of 6.0 liters, the most fuel-efficient version of the SUV.

While the 150 hp are enough out for decent performance. The sprint of the 150 hp Freelander done in 11.7 seconds, the version with 190 hp creates the same discipline even in just 9.5 seconds.

For daily use, the 150 hp quite rich, who places more value on driving pleasure, but also want to get off the beaten track ahead is the 190 hp version, but certainly better off.

The redesigned interior with a still like design and is an easy to use. The materials chosen act also much higher quality than its predecessor.

His true trumps the Freelander 2 plays but from off the paved roads, where he convinces with its great off-road capability.

Land Rover Freelander 2 2013

Of course, he creates by the lack of air suspension is not the same entanglement as the Discovery 4, but it comes with the Freelander 2 off road in areas where other compact SUV had to abandon a long time.

Impressive is still the Terrain Response system, which offers the perfect opportunity for each electronic control. Whether mud, sand or even the steep slope, the electronic system controls all aspects perfect, and it comes perfectly with the Freelander 2 through rough terrain. One keystroke is enough to set the current base of the Terrain Response, and you're ready for anything.

The renovation of the 2013 Land Rover Freelander 2 has done very well, he looks back dewy and higher quality than the previous model's top off-road but he was able to maintain.

Both engines are mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission.
The Range Rover has always been very capable off the tarmac. The 2013 model features Land Rovers latest Terrain Response system which reads the terrain and adjusts the vehicles settings to ensure the best possible off road performance.

2013 Range Rover Evoque SD4

This union of the British car manufacturer is a very big one. Rarely has a niche brand with a niche car has achieved such a success. Range Rover and his Evoque. One of the best moves of this company. Since not even a year to dominate the market this beautifully designed vehicle the world. It completely surprised by the parents of this baby, who were overwhelmed by demand.
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque SD4

The appearance
2013 Range Rover Evoque SD4 with the 2.2-liter diesel that produces 140 kW (190 hp). In the driven variant of our "dynamic", the middle between "pure" and "prestige".

You would do the car and its creators but wrong if we did not mention the extensive standard equipment. In the four-wheel version of the Evoque puts all of the outstanding technology of the British pound in the pan. These include not only the home of Land Rover invented the Hill Descent Control, Terrain Response system with four modes, which can be selected by pressing a button. The normal mode is optimized for road and off-road use such as a dirt track. Grass / gravel / snow is meant for slippery surfaces, mud, muddy and loose for the real state of the roads, sand for the desert.
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque

Return to standard on the Range Rover Evoque. Already SD4 are mounted 17-inch Pure Alus. A two-zone automatic climate control ensures a pleasant air, the seats are partially wrapped in leather and 8 speakers are driven by the 80 watt payable radio-CD unit with MP3 function.

The larger 19-inch light alloy are reared at the two higher trim levels. Really fat, the optional 20-inch polished silver look. The fill not only the powerful wheel arches better, but is a real looker. The ears are a Meridian sound system with 380 watts spoiled, which is about an 8-inch touch screen.

The road is illuminated by means of bi-xenon headlights and night lighting environment projects the silhouette of the Evoque on the ground. Not just a nice gimmick, but a good feeling of security. The seats are in the dynamic version of grained leather and electrically adjustable. The prestige of Oxford leather that extend over the dashboard and door inserts must.
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque

The drive unit
The 2.2-liter diesel is a strong part. 420 Nm of torque, this engine, matched perfectly with the optional six-speed automatic, which we recommend for comfort but sporty driving. Because using shift paddles on the steering wheel allows the gear changes affect manually at any time. Since the Range Rover Evoque relatively easy to build, the consumption is in absolutely acceptable limits. The 6.5 liter average, the promises of the manufacturers are rarely available, our test consumption was associated with about 8 liters, with plenty of urban traffic, in a very good framework.

Very good also the impressions left by the suspension. Flit or glide, off-road over rough stone or mud and the mud can squirt up. The balance is convincing in every case and makes the Range Rover Evoque, in keeping with its big brothers for a great touring car.
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque

Conclusion
The success of the Range Rover Evoque is no accident. An SUV that looks phenomenal, and in the field do what the brand promises. Associated with luxury and understated at the same time. At least when a subtle color is chosen. You can also let it rip, but the Evoque and a two-tone paint select, the more it emphasizes the formal language of the Evoque wonderful. He is in regards to price comparison with its competitors in the premium class to about the same. However, besides the high-road capability of the optics and also the slightly different variety of features to be considered.

Land Rover planning a sporty and fast variant of Evoque

Land Rover's design director Gerry McGovern was talkative at the Beijing Auto Show. As the Evoque Sport has to look sporty, we can expect Land Rover to adorn it with a body kit and lower the car. Diesel powered Evoques are quite popular too, and the performance diesel could be given the 2. co. The configuration of the Range Rover Evoque Sport variant is not clear though Auto Express is expecting a progression of the 240bhp 2.

Readers of AutoMiddleEast.  He told Auto Express cabriolet (convertible) and sporty versions of the baby crossover are being considered for production.  A hike in power has to be balanced out by installing larger brakes and tuning the suspension to handle better. 0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit to drive the performance model. com have been informed on Land Rover's recruiting activities at the Halewood factory where the Evoque is manufactured as production lines have to run around the clock to stay abreast with the demand.

2013 Range Rover Evoque

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Range Rover Evoque shows with Convertible Concept, might look like an open version of the Evoque.

2013 Ranger Rover Evoque

Inspired by the success of the Range Rover Evoque dares one step further and test how an SUV Convertible would arrive in the premium compact segment.

Visually, this corresponds to the Evoque Convertible Concept Coupe Evoque, the study comes out of it without roll bar, in the event of a rollover protection the ROPS (Roll Over Protection System).

As befits a classic, brititsches Convertible, the open Evoque comes with a fabric top. In this open state is under a sloped cover in the rear room.

Even with the torsional rigidity to the Convertible Evoque in no way inferior to the closed, a fact which is in frequent use in the area even more important than normal convertibles.
2013 Ranger Rover Evoque

After all, the Evoque Convertible Concept, the same technical basis as the Evoque with a fixed roof, just to be able to order the same features, including highlights such as the surround camera system, Terrain Response, an 8 "infotainment touchscreen with" DualView "or high quality leather seats.

At first the photos Evoque Convertible Concept has been very close to the series. In accordance with a positive response, the convertible would be entirely possible to go into production very quickly. Bring enough courage, such a car on the market, Range Rover safely.
